Tim froze as Hades spoke to him. He couldn't feel any of his limbs as they were drilled into the ground, which it was kind of thankful for because he imagined that it would have been very painful if he could have felt it. As Hades vanished, Tim regained himself a bit and began to squirm his head back and forth, trying to loosen the earth around himself. "Great, I think I just pissed off the Lord of the Dead," he muttered, taking the literal interpretation of Hades' name. He continued to struggle, just barely managing to wiggle his fingers below the dirt and he slowly began his own excavation. After a little while it became obvious that he wasn't going to be able to dig himself out on his own, so he relaxed and looked to the others, a nervous grin on his face. "Yeah, I could use a little help here," his tone was playfully, but with a slight edge of panic. "And I'd really like to get out of here before my arm falls off, or something."

Alex glanced over to Tori, who had just been crazy enough to stick her hands in a fire. He scoffed, rolling his eyes, "Imbecile," he said before strolling over to Tim. He bent over, looking at Tim's predicament, "you're much more useful to us with arms than without arms, and the sooner we can be done with this nonsense the better." He then reached down, digging away at the dirt to try and get Tim the slightest bit loose.
"It'd be dandy if one of you could make use of yourself and see if there's a shovel or something we could use. Someone else will need to help me pull him out," Alex then turned towards Kenna, groaning with annoyance, "And could someone PLEASE shut that brat up? Her sobbing isn't helping anyone."

When she hit the ground, she winced when her knee got scuffed, and sat up, pausing her quiet sobbing, but not the tears, so she could inspect the wound. It wasn't bloody. That was good. It still hurt though... Tucking her knees up to her chest and hugging her legs, Kenna buried her face into her knees. She wanted her dad to come and pick her up and take her back home. She didn't understand anything of what everyone else seemed to. How did anyone make sense of this? She flinched at the older boy's words, like one would from a burn, and curled up tighter. "Le... Leave me... Alone..." She whimpered under her breath, not loud enough for him to hear, but just enough so it counted as defending herself. Her soft shudders and whimpers shook her little body. She shouldn't have come here. She didn't want to come here in the first place. All the people were mean. Nothing made sense. Dad said she'd be happy. He lied. She was never going camping ever again.

Tori shook off her hand, which wasn’t as bad as she had thought. Okay, maybe she should have helped Tim before going berserk and sticking her hand in a fire, but hey, that was her thought process. She gaped in shock at what Alex said. You would think he would have a little sympathy!
For a second, she was going to punch him, she was going to punch the crap out of his fat head. No, instead she shot him a venomous glare and went to comfort Kenna. She let Alex alone this time, though she wasn’t known for her mercy. Next time he would have to deal with her personally. “Hey kiddo, keep your chin up eh?” she said cheerfully, placing her hands on her shoulders, “Ignore him, he’s an idiot, I’ll protect you, okay?” Tori had never been confronted with something like this, but she knew what it was like to feel alone and afraid. It was a method she used while training dogs, she smiled and pretended she and Kenna were the only two here.

Clement seemed a bit stunned by the...demigod's, as he put it, honesty, or at least, attempt at explaining. Pocket dimension? If such a thing did exist, it would certainly explain what just happened...but how...no, perhaps it was better to not question the things that have just happened. Especially considering one of the other kids with them just exploded into fire and tried to take Hades down by himself. Incredible, it was as if he had jumped straight into The Lord of the Rings, or some other fantasy filled with magic and...demigods. He's have to get use to that, seeing as Hades so resembled the Witch-King in Clement's mind. Something else he said bothered Clement, and as the old creature vanished and gave them final instructions, Clement cursed his luck, wishing to know more. If they were just human to him, then why were they here? And exactly 'who' gave this creature this so called job...Gah, so many questions, to the point Clement had to rub his temples to try and concentrate on the situation at hand. Namely the crying girl, the stuck kid, and the fact that they needed to be at the docks soon for...whatever reason.
As his came back out of his mind, Clement turned to give Alex a glaring sort of look, though it looked almost confused at the same time. "Crying may not help, but it's not meant to, it's meant to display distress, any human would attempt to console the crying one, instead of trying to shut them up, yes?" Clement was surprised at his tone and amount of words that flowed out of him, matter-of-fact like and serious all the same. He supposed he grew to be more defensive then he thought of friends...or maybe he just didn't like Alex. Both were quite possible. "Regardless, we are in this together, like it or not, and it does not bode well to insult your only allies." His statement was final, offering no room for argument, as he walked over to Kenna and placed a hand upon her shoulder and whispered to her, his gaze darting side to side as, despite his words, he wasn't that much better at this then the others. "Easy now...we need to stick together for now, figure out what is going on. We'll be here to help you when we can, but we need you there too. You may cry at a later time, alright?" As Clement said so, he attempted to 'make a silly face' hoping it would cheer her up some, though it looked incredibly wrong on the young boy's face. His serious tone contrasted it almost strikingly. Hoping it was a success, he brought her attention to the book he still had on himself. "Any time you feel like crying, I want you to focus on this...can you do that?" He was hoping to establish a link with her, so that she can contain herself until they were at least in a better position for her to break down...hopefully it would be soon. By then, Clement noticed Alex and the others succeeding relatively in prying Tim from his Terran trap, thankfully they did not need Clement for it. He wasn't the most physically fit.

Jacob's eyes gaped open as the purple runes etched onto Tim's neck, baffled at what it meant. By this point he thought he must have been dreaming. Jacob only blinked once, but in the moment his lids unveiled what was taking place before him Tim was already gone. The fear of the reaper was still too near for him to react to the unnatural events. He simply trembled, planted on his backside as Tim was drawn into the ground.
The fear slowly subsiding, Jacob's body grew less tense. He was frightened out of his wits but he gained control of his limbs as everyone recoiled in their own way. His arms still shook slightly and he felt cold, as if his life was escaping him. He stood up within time and surveyed the pitch darkness of the dimension's void that surrounded the dimmed lake and flaring campfire that provided what little warmth it could to him. Finally he spoke, a few stammers in his words. "What does this mean? What do we even do now?", his words echoed as he spoke audibly, though absent-mindedly and only to himself. "We have to find that? That thing that put us here? This isn't cool."
He was so overwhelmed by his own fear that everyone else drowned out, his eyes staring vacantly at the endless dark. Raising his hand before him he inspect his hand, as if it were not his own. Soon, the shock had settled in and passed for the most part before the swirling voices echoed around him. The sound that reached out to him most was the muffled whine of a small girl. His mind found comfort that he was not the smallest, nor the youngest and most frightened of those who found themselves in this damnable situation. Finding someone weaker than him gave him courage enough to fight through this nightmare.
Slowly he trailed over to her, ignoring Alex complete as well as Tim's own plight. When he stood but a foot from her he sat down, crossing his legs. Jacob was never one to comfort others unless it benefited him in some short-sighted manner and he was not adept in articulating his feelings through words. He wasn't even entirely sure what he felt, save for fear. Nonetheless he tried to assure her, albeit clumsily. "Hey, it's gonna be okay. We'll...." He thought to himself, caught in his own worries before coming to. "We'll get out of here somehow, and back to camp, yeah? We're not alone at least. We have those guys over there too." He paused once again before resuming his petty speech. "Most importantly, you have me!", he boasted, pressing his thumb to his chest. With that he mustered the courage to shrug off the gravity of the situation and give life to a hearty, if not forced, laugh. Looking up at Tori and Clement he smiled from ear to ear, a small ping of embarrassment washing over him as he did so.
After his smile subsided he stood to his feet. "So, uh... Who are you guys?"

Pulled from his attempts to console the girl, Clement looked up and nodded giving a small and somewhat invisible smile. "Clement Mallards." He said, the emphasis on the first name and almost murmuring the second, as he gave the boy a nod. "Nice to...uh meet you." He seemed almost reluctant to say it, the circumstances making this most certainly not nice...but it was the custom. After a long pause, he continued. "...Yourself?"

Tori glanced around and realized she hardly knew these people either, well she knew everyone except the crying girl and the really smart-sounding guy. "Er, well I'm Tori, Tori Lee," she spoke up, addressing everyone, "I already met most of you earlier." She couldn't help but glare menacingly at Alex, just for good measure. "By the way, how's that yo-yo workin' out for ya?" she asked, smirking at Jacob.

Jacob, having regained his footing, now measuring up to Clement, saw that he looked small and weak. He looked rather intelligent behind those glasses though, almost intimidatingly so. Those were his thoughts before he opened his mouth in response. "Clement, huh? Weird name. Sounds like a girl's name.", he teased. "I'm Jacob Olson. If we become bros you can call me Jay. Most of my friends do anyway."
As Tori addressed him he looked up, his gaze meeting her oddly colored hair. He hadn't met many people in school who dyed their hair, so it was a bit strange to him. She was tall and thin, but she seemed like she was tougher than she looked. "So that's your name! Well, I'm Jacob. Jacob Olson.", he repeated, feeling it important everyone was familiar with his name. "Oh! That's right!" He dug into the recesses of his pocket as he brought out the item of topic. He looked at it for a moment before turning his gaze to the fire as he absently pocketed it. "I think we need to figure how to get out of here.", he said, shifting the topic of conversation. "And who's the little cry baby?", he scoffed playfully, squinting one eye and smiling ridiculously.

Tim was silent as the two other campers half-pulled half-threw him out of the hole. He managed to get a foot up and push himself out with a little help, but he remained silent as he stood there, staring at the ground when suddenly, he turned around and promptly, with due cause, punched Alex in the chest. With that out of the way, he grinned towards his other helper. "Great work, kid," Tim said, placing a hand on Thatch's head and beaming down at him. "I guess I owe you one." As Tim turned his head, there was a twinge from his neck, which caused him to jerk his hand up to the pain. Once it had subsided, he followed the path and came to the revelation that the glowing he had seen earlier must have caused it. 'I wonder what the hell that was,' he thought, zoning out for a second before snapping back to reality.
He then turned and saw Kenna, but everyone already seemed to be cheering her up. 'There's already enough people there,' Tim thought, slightly turned down by the notion. "I'm Timothy Bean," he called out, waving his arm in a kind of 'I'm still here' fashion. "You know, the guy that was just drilled into the ground? Yeah?" Tim just stood there, hands on his hips, and a grin spread across his face.

Clement stuttered to a stop at Jacob's words for a moment, his words failing to form for a change, and seemed to flush in the face at him. "It...it is not a girls name!" He called out at the boy, his voice a bit higher then it was before, before he paused, realizing what he was doing, and tried to calm the anger out of his face, choosing to not say much more to Jacob for...a little while at least. Instead, he turned and waved to Tim. "We saw." Clement continued with a similar tone to his normal voice, if not quite there. "It was...strange... you caught fire." Clement said simply. How do you talk about this sort of thing? Heck if he knew. "Nice to meet you, I am Clement Mallard." He nodded at Tim this time. Best to grow acquainted as soon as possible.

Alex grunted as he was knocked back a bit, baffled by the punch. He grunted, grabbing his chest for a moment before glaring at Tim, "Ungrateful little f-" he stopped for a moment and thought about it. He had just felt pain. Not a discomfort, not a slight pain either, but full on pain. His arms dropped, 'Wait... no... no no no,' he thought to himself, turning away from the group to think, 'No... this can't be right. No way can this be right... it's not a dream, but it has to be. There's no way this could happen in the real world. No way in hell...' he thought, trying to rationalize the situation to himself. No matter what way he thought about it though, he couldn't, he just couldn't think about how or why this had happened.
Alex turned back, facing the group. He took in a deep breath, and sighed, "This is real, isn't it?" He asked.

Kenna had flinched at the girl's touch, and held her breath, suddenly more embarrassed than anything. Her voice was soft and soothing. She found herself distracted for a moment, until another person walked over. He was... Clement, from earlier. What was he asking? He talked funny... She found herself giggling at the face he made, then regained her pout and sniffle from before. Finally, the loud boy caught her attention, and she watched him. Why was everyone trying to cheer her up? Were they... Were they trying to be her friends? When the boy named Jacob asked who the 'crybaby' was, she pouted, assuming he meant her. "Not a crybaby," she blurted, finding that term wholly offensive. She was eight now! The term crybaby was unthinkable! "My name's Kenna." She said that part in a slightly small voice, and sniffled again. Her accent was thick, but her words were clear and well-pronounced, easy for anyone to understand. She shot a glare in Alex's direction, and let herself fall out of her curled-up position, inspecting her knee. It still kind-of stung, but... She was tough. Making a determined face, she attempted to stand up, reaching down to brush off the dirt on her shorts.

Watching as the girl seemed to recover without much trouble, and after calming himself down from his own outburst, Clement glanced to Alex when he stated something Clement himself was still coming to terms with. Sliding the book back into his jacket, it was obvious she wouldn't need it, Clement nodded to him, that similar serious face of his looking back at him. "It would seem so..." It was difficult to know where to begin, even by someone that was talented at public speaking, but Clement simply shook his head. "Either way, that big skeleton expects us, we should listen, I don't think we could get away from it even if we tried." Clement sighed, recalling the shadow creatures he had used to bring them all to the same spot. Something told him he wouldn't be as kind the next time.

Thatch, in silent shock, swallowed heavily as the reaper disappeared. Pale and on cold sweat, the boy looked to his hands. Without a word, the boy walked over to the campfire, and sat down next to it. Taking out a bottle of water he had in his pocket, and a napkin, he took off his glasses, and began to clean them, solemnly.
"I... I'm really scared, b-but. I think we've all realized by now that this isn't a dream or something like that. Once he had cleared the blood from the lenses, he set the glasses on his nose again, then straightening them. He turned to look at the others, a worried, fearful frown on his face. "M-Maybe we should sit down for a minute and... I dunno... Assess the situation? T-The thing... Hades, it said we had twenty minutes, right?"
Rubbing at the back of his neck, the boy's face was still stained with blood, as well as his hands. He drenched his hands in the water from the bottle, trying to clean the blood onto his shirt. Seeing the boy in such a sorry state, the group -- even including the now shaken Alex, decided it a good idea to sit down and make sense of the whole ordeal.
As they all sat down around the campfire, the dark lake in the background began to stir. Unbeknownst to the group, a whirlpool, as black as the abyss of the ocean, had began to form. It seemed as if the water of the whirlpool did not belong in the lake's pure, transparent body, overpowering it completely with its darkness.
Thatch looked at the group, whom were all sitting there in awkward silence, seemingly not sure where to start. Clearing his throat weakly, the boy raised his hand, as if in class, then speaking up, voice somewhat raised, to make sure everyone heard him.
"I think you guys were already making introductions before, but we should probably go over this again. I'm, uh... I'm Thatch. Thatch Noble." He lowered his hand to scratch at his cheek, giving a weak, somewhat forced smile. "Ten years old." He looked to the others, waiting for someone else to take their turn.
